Federal Grants Provide Debt Relief

Americans are drowning in debt. They desperately need relief.

The so-called “housing bubble” made credit relatively easy, and unregulated banking and credit systems encouraged lenders to take unreasonable risks, so that they extended lines of credit to unworthy borrowers who left them awash in “toxic assets.” Of course, massive government bail-outs of major corporations and banks have instantly gone into the history books, and the average American family is left holding the bag. In January, 2010, one in every fifty-one American houses was in foreclosure, and nearly 2400 hard-working families daily lost their homes. American families needed rescue at least as desperately as the banks and corporations.

Championed by the Obama administration and approved by Congress, the Economic Recovery Act of 2009 brought some hope of relief for struggling families. Although no provision in the Act provided loan forgiveness or direct payment to cash-strapped homeowners, several of its provisions created unprecedented opportunities for ambitious people who had courage, vision, and energy enough to apply for Federal grants.

Empowering families to fulfill their dreams and destinies, Federal grant programs support creation and operation of new businesses-especially in depressed inner cities and remote rural areas. Federal grant programs also support worker re-education and re-training, so that any American might get back to work making the nation prosper. Especially in “green” and “high-tech” industries, possibilities abound, and plenty of money is available to support fledgling entrepreneurs.

Federal grant paves the path to financial independence.
A Federal grant for education or a new enterprise will not directly go to your creditors, but it will give you funds to meet all your expenses while you build your own business or earn your degree. Especially if you launch a home-based business, your Federal grant will relieve your stress and burden, providing liquid assets for…

Home office expenses -If you run a business from your home, you may deduct a portion of your mortgage payment as rent for your home office space, and you may deduct portions of your utility bills as business expenses. If you dedicate a phone line and subscribe to the internet just for business purposes, you may deduct those expenses or pay for them with your grant money. The same rules apply to all the standard overhead costs associated with running a business.

Automotive expenses -If you use your car for business purposes, you may pay for most of your expenses with your grant money, or you may deduct it from your taxes. A standard Federal rate applies to your mileage, but you also may add your car payments, insurance, maintenance, and other costs to the budget you submit with your application for a Federal grant.

Capital improvements -If you need a fax machine, your Federal grant can pay for it. If you need new computers, servers, modems, and software, your Federal grant can pay for them. Of course, your Federal grant can pay for all the paper, pencils, and printer cartridges your business consumes, and it also can pay for your cleaning supplies and all kinds of new machinery essential to efficient and effective operation of your family business. In some cases, it also can pay for meals, entertainment, and travel.

Labor costs -If you plan to hire people for work in your new business, your Federal grant can pay their wages. If you plan to hire accountants or a book-keeping and tax-preparation service, your grant can pay for them. If you need a person or service periodically to clean your offices, your grant can pay for them.

You do not need a degree in economics to recognize how Obama’s economic stimulus can reduce your household expenses as it empowers you to become an entrepreneur. Information about Federal grants costs nothing, and most grant applications are free or charge only a nominal processing fee. Escape from debt and drudgery, applying for a Federal grant to support your business or education.
