Home cleaning, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, office cleaning, car cleaning, pet cleaning… The list goes on.

With so many types of cleaning business opportunities, how are you to know which one is best?

There are a number of things to consider when choosing the type of cleaning business you want to start, but first we must understand the concept of one off and regular cleaning jobs. Regular cleaning jobs would be considered jobs that provide ongoing work such as home cleaning. One off jobs are those that provide a one time job such as end of lease cleans. It is important to understand the difference between the two because your choice of cleaning business opportunity can be the difference between success and failure.

Let me ask you a question. Would you rather spend money on marketing and get a customer that gives you $300-$400 in one hit, or a customer that wants a regular clean at $80 every fortnight? I would prefer the $80 every fortnight, the first year alone that customer would bring me $2,080.

Here’s another way to look at this. If John goes out and gets 5 new one off customers each week, how many clients would he be cleaning for on the 4th week? 5 right? But if Bill also was getting 5 new customers a week from his marketing, but he ran a cleaning business built on regular work, how many clients would he be cleaning for on the 4th week if his regular jobs were weekly? Not 5, but 20! Now if you look one year ahead, John is still doing 5 jobs a week and Bill is doing a whopping 260 jobs every week! Does that help prove the point?

Cleaning business opportunities are endless, but it is so important to choose the right one or you can end up trying to build a business that is just… hard. I have seen many people struggling with trying to create a large commercial cleaning business, and yet even in a bad economy I know others that are finding more customers than they can handle with a regular home cleaning business.

Right now there is a huge and growing demand for home cleaners, and on top of that most current home cleaners are doing such a bad job at running their business, with the right strategies you can literally start your business and be making a six figure salary within 6 months of starting.

So if you’re asking “what are the best cleaning business opportunities” I would say this. A regular home cleaning business is the best opportunity to make serious money and not be caught doing the day to day cleaning of the business. But not only is it the best cleaning business opportunity, I believe it is one of the best home based businesses you could start. It requires next to no start up money, you can build it so you don’t have to do the work, and you can run it all from the comfort of your own home while making serious money.
